While I've got a dirty thing for red-heads, I can't stand the little mermaid. Which is good because she's a cartoon character, but a character I do like is NBC's Merlin. Played by Colin Morgan, the quirky magician protects and aids a young Prince Arthur in his adventures. Not limited to the standard action/fantasy fair (a la the Legend of the Seeker, which I also like), this show has great acting and writing. The special effects aren't half bad either. If you like a light-hearted fantasy that can get serious when it wants to, look for this show. (I watch it free and legal on hulu.com, so I have no idea when it comes on TV.)
